What we do
We strive to introduce the children to many stimulating learning experiences, ensuring that the activities are fun and enjoyable. We work in line with the revised Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2012).
Child and adult led activities provide understanding of each other’s culture, lives and religions and the children have the chance to experiment with various media in art and in music and movement.
We have a safe, secure outdoor area which is accessible all year round – whatever the weather. This allows children to experience the changing seasons and our diverse climate, they also have the space to play, explore and learn.
We have a greenhouse and garden area where the children plant and grow flowers, vegetables and fruit. They are encouraged to tend to the seeds until they are fully grown, together we harvest them to cook and eat, this in turn gives children the knowledge of where some of their food comes from.
Our sensory garden provides the children with the chance to taste and smell a variety of herbs and fruits, enjoy creating music with our large musical instruments and to sit and listen to stories told from our large storytellers’ chair. They can also sit outside and paint or draw what they see.
The interior is free flow, allowing the children to move around and benefit from all aspects of play and activities on offer to them.
We are fully inclusive and work closely with all our parents and external agencies to achieve the best for each child’s individual needs – whatever they may be.
All sessions are mixed age and ability groups giving the children the opportunity to learn from and help each other.
